Finger Print Balloon Art

This was SO much fun and my son LOVED it!!! Its so simple and the only clean up is the cleaning of thumbs!
What you need!
Stamping ink, Finger Paint, Something of the sort. I used stamping ink because I had more colors
Paper.
Thumbs!

Markers/Yarn

I think you get the basic concept. Stick thumb on ink/paint, Stick it on the paper. A bunch of times. :)

Then you can glue down yarn for the balloon string.. OR use a fine tip sharpie to draw them. Thats what we did.

You can then add colors to make a little balloon scene, or whatever you'd like!! I used the ink for a sky, grass, sun and flowers!! My son actually got mad when i put the ink away!!!

TIPS! Keep wipies on hand to wipe thumbs between colors to keep the colors vibrant and not icky looking. Either way, its awesome!!!

IDEA!!!! We did one picture where my fiance, myself AND my son did prints for a cool family thumb print balloon picture!! Im going to frame them and date them. I highly recommend doing this project it is absolutley so great!!!

Cracking Eggs. The FUN!!!

Basically... Let your little one throw eggs and not get in trouble for it!!! Its the best!

Cracking Eggs!! The Preperation!

This activity is long coming! It takes a while of preperation, unless you plan to use up 2 dozen eggs at once!

You need:

Egg Shells

Sidewalk Chalk Paint

Hot Glue Gun

When you crack your eggs, crack half leaving just a smal hole in the top, and crack the other half, in half. They won't all fit properly, but the hot glue comes in handy to seal up the cracks also!

Fill the eggs with sidewalk chalk paint! Mix colors! It looks so awesome when they are cracked!

Hot glue the tops to the eggs that are filled with paint, seal all cracks or hole with hot glue. You will probably burn your fingers..But don't cover the whole egg with hot gue because then it won't crack! I ended up making 11 fully paint filled eggs!

Tomorrow Ill post about/pictures of the fun part...!!! :) Its awesome, and I'm sure you can guess what it is... but wait til you see it in action!!

Phase 2! The Glueing

This was much more disasterous than Phase 1. I have decided we aren't doing macaroni art for another 15 years. Lol. It went like this...

Aidyn grabs handful of macaronis/shells/buttons etc.... tosses them onto painting..

I quickly glue things where they fall, and add my own spice here and there.

In the end, it was fun, kept us busy, he loved it, and it turned out pretty cute!

Intermission. BUTTONS!

Really though... depending on the age of your toddler, simple things are EXTREMELY entertaining. Right now, my son is fully into. Handful of blue buttons and a baby food jar.

If your toddler is older, try different colored buttons and a few baby food jars. Sort colors, sort sizes, etc. Its simple, but please sit and watch and stay with your toddler during this activity to assure no buttons go missing in the belly! My son is very very good with not eating things that aren't food, but you can never be too careful!

Painting and Glueing Oh My! Phase 1. Painting.

So I decided to go today with the age old painting and glueing craft fun! :) I laid down two trash bags, easy clean up, put the paint in little plastic cups, and provided QTips, and let my son have at it.

He decided to paint his leg, and then to use his hands, but it was fun. HAVE WIPIES ON HAND! Lol. More like On Lap... for when your kid paints their leg, or throws a QTip onto the floor, off the trash bag. Lol. :) This part actually only kept my son busy for 15 minutes, but he is only 1 1/2. We then just wrapped the QTips, Plastic Cups and remaining paint up in the trash bags, and tossed them! Easy clean up! :D

Prepare for Phase 2, while Phase 1 paint dries. We have gathered feathers, buttons, pipe cleaners, baby food lids, shells, and beads... and glue of course. I'm assuming this part sould be quite interesting! A Toddler, and Glue. This part must be very parental advised as there are small pieces and no one wants someone to choke! Check back in a few for the final results.

Overall, I think painting, with QTips, Brushes, Fingers or Toes is a timeless activity! Its fun for everyone!

Bonus Round!!! Frozen Yogurt Dots!

These are WONDERFUL!!!! Great for toddlers, and me. :) And So Easy! Take a plastic baggie, and cut a small piece of the corner off, spoon the yogurt into the bag and squeeze small dots onto a cookie sheet and stick into the freezer for an hour or two!

ENJOY!!!

I also set my son suck the leftover yogurt from the baggies. :) Lol.

Expect yogurt-y fingers.

No Cook Play-Doh!

What you'll Need:

1 cup flour(I found I need to add a bit more at the end)

1/2 of warm water

1/2 cup of salt

Food Coloring(A packet of kool aid!!)

A mixing bowl

A spoon, my son enjoyed using a wisk and I used the spoon

Cutting Board

You mix it all together in the mixing bowl and then knead it until its dough like. I found it to be sticky and had to knead in more flour but then it was perfect.

My son had so much fun adding all the ingredients and trying to mix it with the wisk. Then he helped me knead it on the cutting board. This kept us busy for probably 25 minutes and the play doh itself kept him busy even longer. I know regilar playdoh is non toxic, but is all cooking stuff. Harmless. My son licked the spoon and thought it was gross. Lol. No harm done. And it smells better! It also relates to your little one helping you to cook! Which can also be fun! It was agreat activity! Reguires some clean up. :) I enjoyed it! And the play doh smells great!
